Jeanette Wormald's Songs of the Inland community music projects have been developed to meet the specific needs of remote, regional and Aboriginal communities. She has had more than 10 years experience working with regional and Aboriginal communities in SA. Her passion, skills and experience over two decades as a professional singer songwriter, journalist, public relations and event management practitioner, educator and youth worker, put her in a unique position to offer communities a holistic approach to project management which ensures quality, sustainable outcomes.

Songs of the Inland Key Areas of Focus:

Creativity and celebration. Participants are encouraged to find their own voice, celebrating what makes them and their region unique and special. Jeanette facilitates the writing of original songs which focus on cultural identity and individual stories to help to build self esteem. A key focus area is cultural, physical and mental well-being - keeping communities and individuals strong.

Community. Jeanette Wormald's projects are designed to meet the needs of the whole community, working with all ages from pre schoolers to aged care. She has established and facilitated community festivals, worked on early childhood projects with a literacy focus, helped children and adults to write songs celebrating their lives and regions, conducted women's choirs and helped develop contemporary men's bands. Jeanette also actively encourages and helps facilitate and organise inmas as a celebration to conclude each community based visit.

Commitment and Care: Long term goals and an on-going commitment to each project are crucial to ensure successful outcomes for participants. Jeanette has an intimate understanding of the need to sit down and listen when working in regional and Aboriginal communities.

All projects have a long term focus with opportunities for professional development for individuals or community groups who wish to increase performance opportunities outside of their community. As a professional singer songwriter with national and international CD releases, and hit radio and television music releases, Jeanette is able to offer management advice for individuals or groups wanting to develop their own skills and experience.

She can also facilitate professional, radio quality recordings of songs and organise media promotion and performances within communities, in Adelaide or interstate festivals.

Jeanette works alongside individuals and groups to empower and skill communities to be able to be as self sufficient as possible. She also has widespread experience and success in applying for and acquitting grants and can assist in project reports to meet specific grant criteria.

Curriculum: School-based music components of each project can be tailored to fit it with the specific needs of each school. Music can offer integrated learning outcomes across curriculum with a focus on key areas including literacy and accelerated literacy texts, maths and associated arts areas including drama and dance. Jeanette has widespread experience working with pre-school ages through to secondary.

Consultation and Communication: All projects are developed according to each community's specific needs. Full and constant consultation with elders and key community representatives is vital to create a successful outcome. This ensures all projects are culturally appropriate, sustainable and offer value for money.
